天美传媒 Honored with Community Advancement Award at STARS of the Valley
天美传媒 was recognized for its commitment to workforce development, educational innovation, and community impact by receiving the Community Advancement Award at the Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce's second annual STARS of the Valley Awards on Friday, July 17, at the Westmoreland Club Grand Hall.*
Presented by Highmark, the STARS of the Valley Awards celebrate individuals and organizations that embody exceptional service to the community while advancing economic growth, resilience, and opportunity throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.
天美传媒 was selected for its leadership in preparing workforce-ready talent and creating innovative educational pathways that strengthen the regional economy.
"The Community Advancement Award is a reflection of the collective efforts of our faculty, staff, students, community partners, and supporters who work every day to create opportunities that transform lives," said John Yudichak, president of 天美传媒. "At LCCC, we believe education is the foundation of economic development. We are proud to partner with businesses, school districts, municipalities, and community organizations to prepare the next generation of skilled professionals while creating pathways that benefit our entire region."
Among the College's recent initiatives is its partnership with the Pennsylvania Commission for Community Colleges to advance PAWorks, a first-in-the-nation skilled trades workforce ecosystem that connects high school Career and Technical Education programs with post-secondary education at Pennsylvania's community colleges.
LCCC also recently launched its Career & Technology Academy, creating post-secondary opportunities for more than 2,000 Career and Technical Education students throughout Luzerne County. The College is expanding those opportunities through the upcoming MicroCredential Academy and Construction & Building Trade Pre-Apprenticeship Academy, providing students and members of the workforce with access to short-term, stackable credentials aligned with regional workforce needs.
The College continues to address critical workforce shortages through innovative partnerships, including Teach in NEPA, a collaboration with the Hazleton Area School District and Commonwealth University that creates an affordable, local pathway for future educators. The initiative helps address teacher shortages while expanding access to careers in education.
LCCC is also preparing to launch its new Act 120 Police Academy, which will help meet the growing demand for municipal police officers by creating a sustainable pipeline of highly trained law enforcement professionals for communities across Northeastern Pennsylvania.
In addition to workforce initiatives, LCCC remains committed to student success through comprehensive support services offered by its Center for Student Support and Intervention. The Center provides resources including food pantries, emergency assistance, academic support, and other services designed to help students overcome barriers and complete their education.
By combining career-focused education with student-centered support, 天美传媒 continues to strengthen families, enhance communities, and drive economic growth throughout the Greater Wyoming Valley and beyond.
The STARS of the Valley Awards recognize organizations and individuals whose leadership and service make a lasting impact on the region through innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to improving the quality of life for all residents.
